The Madeleine Church is located beteen the Opera Square and and Concorde Square. The construction of the church started in 1764 and halted during the French Revolution until the beginning of the XIXth century when Napoleon decided to build a temple in honor of his army. In 1842 the building was consecrated finally as a church. Just outside the Church, you can find every day a beautiful flower market, the famous Fauchon and Hediard delicatessen shops and the recent art venue, the PInacotheque.
