Illuminated Ocean at the Jardin des Plantes
This year, discover the wonders of our oceans on the occasion of an enchanted night-time walk along the pathways of the Jardin des Plantes and the Menagerie.
The Museum of Natural History, linked with its great exhibition "Ocean, diving into the unknown" (at the Gallery of Evolution) invites you to an artistic and poetic journey homage to the oceans and its inhabitants: 50 ensembles of monumental light structures (some up to 10 metres high and 30 metres long!) are to be discovered featuring 4 marine environments.
The tour begins with a stroll on the tropical coast with flamingos, pelicans and crustaceans, then continues with a dive in the warm seas to discover its fascinating fauna and flora. Follows the discovery of strange creatures in the mysterious universe of the abyss and finally a rise to the frozen seas of the poles with its penguins and polar bears.
This aquatic and poetic stroll is also instructive as the route is lined with explanatory signs detailing the different species and aiming at raising awareness about the fragile beauty of our oceans.
In short, one of the best things to do in Paris at night during the winter holidays with family and friends.
